DAY 1: ARRIVAL
Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, group will be met by tour guide and escorted in a bus to their hotel for check-in.

DAY 2: ACCRA CITY TOUR
Group will immerse themselves into the life of the city of Accra on a tour of the National Museum, which has exhibitions on some ancient relics reflecting the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial eras of Ghana as well as other parts of Africa. You will also visit the memorial site of Ghana’s first president and the African of the 20th century, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the W.E.B. Dubois Centre for Pan African Culture and enjoy a shopping spree at the largest arts and craft bazaar at the Arts Centre to put your negotiation skills to test. On this tour, discover British Accra, Dutch Accra, Danish Accra and other historic sites of the city.

DAY 3: ACCRA / ELMINA
After breakfast, group will check-out of the hotel and depart for the historic Central Region which was the ground of intense battle for supremacy of the Gold Coast now Ghana and the centre of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade.
En route, group will stop at Mankessim which is the spiritual home of the Fante people. Places of interest include the posuban traditional shrine and other places of interest. Saltpond, Kormantse, Abandze and Anomabo will all be visited to discover their historical place regarding the slave trade of which Ghana was at the centre. You will discover the ancestral home of famous people such as Louis Armstrong, the maroons of Jamaica and Prince Klass who led the slave rebellion in Antigua in 1736 on this league of the trip.
You will continue to Elmina and check-in to the Coconut Grove Beach Resort.
DAY 4: CAPE COAST
The group will explore on foot the historic town of Elmina learning much about the socio-economic life of the people in fishing, salt making, etc. Places of interest include the traditional shrines, oldest church in Ghana, 18th century Dutch cemetery, old and new Elmina Township etc. This walking tour will culminate with a tour of the Elmina Ft. St. Georges Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 and believed to have been visited by Christopher Columbus en route to the New Worlds. It is one of two largest slave forts in the world.
The other places that will be visited include the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site built by the British in 1665. You will return to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 5: KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
You will also visit the Kakum National Park where you have the opportunity to hike up the only Canopy Walkway in Africa or opt to learn about the medicinal value of the trees on a trail. The rest of the day will be at leisure.

DAY 6: ELMINA / BUSUA
Group will depart Elmina for the Western Region of Ghana which has the largest collection of forts in Ghana. Group will visit Nkroful which is the Hometown of Kwame Nkrumah as well as take a canoe ride over the lake Tadan to the Nzulezo Village which is entirely built on stilts. The nearby Fort Appolonia will also be explored to learn more about its history. Group will drive to the town of Busua to check-in to their hotel.

DAY 7: BUSUA / ELMINA
Returning to Elmina, the group will visit Ft. Metal Cross at Dixcove and further explore Sekondi-Takoradi before arriving in Elmina. The rest of the day will be at leisure.

DAY 8: ELMINA / KUMASI
The group will depart Elmina for Kumasi visiting the Assin Manso Slave River en route. The Assin Manso Slave River site is where the enslaved Africans had their last bath in African waters before being held up in the dungeons of the castles. It is also the site for the celebration of the annual emancipation day.
Upon arrival in Kumasi, group will visit the craft villages of Ashanti to Bonwire renowned for being the originating place of the world famous Kente woven textile, Ntonso which is popular for the Adinkra traditional textile and Awhiaa Township for woodcarving. After the tours, group will continue to Kumasi where they will check-in to their hotel.

DAY 9: KUMASI
Kumasi is Ghana’s second largest city and home of culture, gold and tradition. Dating back from the formation of the Ashanti union from the late 1690’s, Kumasi is home to one of the few existing monarchies in Africa. The tour of the city will take into consideration various aspects of the city with visits to the Okomfo Anokye Sword site where this mysterious priest who conjured the golden stool embodying the soul of Ashanti from the sky drove a sword into the ground in 1697 predicting that no one could ever pull it out of its place. Other places of interest will include the Prempeh II Museum where you will find a replica and the fake golden stool presented to the British. You will continue to the Manhyia Palace which has served as the seat of the Ashanti monarchy since 1924 and the Military Museum. The largest open market in West Africa Kejetia spanning 12 hectares will be yours to explore as well on foot.

DAY 10: KUMASI/ AKOSOMBO
The group will depart for Koforidua. En route you will visit the Asante traditional building and shrine at Ejisu Besaese, the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana and the Beads market in the capital. Continue to Akosombo.
Overnight at the Senchi River Resort
DAY 11: AKOSOMBO / ACCRA
Group will have the opportunity to learn much about how to make beads. Group will also visit the Akosombo dam site which is one of largest man-made lakes in the world. It is Ghana’s largest source of hydro-electric power. Group will continue to the Shai Game Reserve en route to Accra.

DAY 12: ABURI/DEPARTURE
Group will spend the morning visiting the Aburi Botanical Garden. The Garden was established by the British in 1890 and boasts of trees planted by some world figures such as Queen Elizabeth II of England and others. Also embark on a last minute opportunity to shop around Accra before transfer to the airport later to catch your departure flight.
